A-Perustus Oy and Metsä Fibre, a Metsä Group company, have signed a contract for the construction of the foundations for the pipeline and conveyor bridges and related civil engineering works for the future bioproduct plant.
"We choose the best professionals in the field to partner with us in building a modern bioproducts plant in Kemi. We expect our partners to commit to the project's objectives in terms of safety, schedule and quality. A-Perustus Oy acts according to these principles.", Bioproduct Plant Project Manager Jari-Pekka Johansson Forest Fibre states.
In recent years, A-Perustus Oy has strengthened its role as a strong industrial player. This is the company's second contract for the Kemi bioproduct plant. In the past, the company has carried out industrial contracts at the Hanhikivi nuclear power plant site, the Outokumpu steel mill, Stora Enso, Kemira and several sawmills.
"The contract is a significant achievement for our company and I believe the deal will lead to more similar contracts in the industrial sector. In recent years, we have invested significantly in increasing our industrial construction activities. One measure is the certification of our quality and occupational safety system this year.", CEO and founder of A-Perustus Oy, Tomi Puoskari, notes.
The estimated total value of the unit-price contract will be more than EUR 10 million, using approximately 12,500m3 of concrete and around 2.1 million kg of steel. The works are underway and will be completed in autumn 2022.
"We mainly use our own staff and standard partners, most of whom are northern Finnish operators, as our workforce", Production Manager of A-Perustus Oy Teemu Kangas Notes.
